The TKM Crimp Splice Protection, also known as the SSE Splice Protection Element, is an essential solution for protecting fiber optic fusion splice connections. Splice protection is crucial because during splicing, the protective coating is removed to fuse the optical fibers together, leaving them unprotected at the splice point.

The TKM Splice Protection is distinguished by its robust construction, which provides excellent mechanical protection. Inside the splice protection, a permanently elastic mass ensures that the delicate splice point is shielded from environmental influences, thereby preventing damage.

A key advantage of the crimp splice protection is that it does not affect the attenuation of the splice point when applied correctly. The splice protection is designed for use with optical fibers up to an outer diameter of 250 µm and can be easily processed with standard crimp splice protection presses.

The splice protection is packaged in a blister pack, which ensures secure transport and optimal product protection. Additionally, the re-sealable blister pack allows for practical handling and storage after removing a splice protection.
